Our cowboy had a close friend who went to university and wasn’t making use of his horse. My third new horse is a little bit different. He is a very well-bred big sorrel – a real looker. Sadly, his owner became bedridden and died leaving his widow with her hands full of weanlings, yearlings, broodmares and two stallions. Meanwhile the fine horse became a gelding and was trained as a reiner. After that training, the horse basically didn’t get to do much. He got trail ridden by a neighbor from time to time, but spent most of his time in pens or stalls. So he is 7 going on 3 in training. But he is even tempered and really bright – and absolutely magnificent. We expect he will make a great guest ranch horse – he certainly has the potential.

My hubby has asked me to stop purchasing horses – at least for awhile.
